Welcome to Battlers to Bathurst
Do you dream of driving at Bathurst?
Well here’s your chance, welcome to Battlers to Bathurst!
What is Battlers to Bathurst?
Battlers to Bathurst is an initiative by Richard Mork (aka “Morky”). Richard’s goal is to give a “battler” the opportunity to race his Toyota 86 Production car in the 2022 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour – FREE!.
What is a battler you ask?
Richard’s words are “Someone who doesn’t have a rich daddy or mummy, someone who will probably never have the chance (especially financially) to race at Bathurst”.
Who is eligible?
Any one is able to nominate, all you need to do is fill out the form below, and we’ll let you know if you make the cut. It’s highly recommended that participants have a current Motorsport Australia Circuit Licence.
How does this work?
The panel from Motor Racing Australia and Pheasant Wood Circuit will individually go through each application. A short list of 10 candidates will be selected by the panel. All 10 candidates will be invited to attend a track day at Pheasant Wood Circuit and undergo test drive sessions on January 15. At the end of the day, the panel will carefully select two participants to drive with Richard Mork in the 2022 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour.
How much does it cost?
That is the golden question. There is no cost to enter the event, and the winners will not have to pay a cent towards the race experience, it’s all covered*.
*The winners will be required to cover their own accommodation and personal costs at the event.
Why is this happening?
Richard who is a youthful 74 year of age … OK, maybe not so youthful anymore, anyway, after he experienced one of his worst motorsport experiences at the Bathurst 6 hour in 2021 it got Richard thinking. He thought he’d like to give a true battler the ultimate experience. Richard has had a very extensive motor racing career and raced almost every type of car out there. This is his way of ‘giving back’ to grassroots motorsport which is where he started from and his passion lies.
